Artist statement

Alexis moved to Norway in 2006. He is born in Cuba 7th of March 1966. and has his artistic background from Havana. He has long experience as a printmaker in silk-screen and lithography as well as in public actions, and has exhibited extensively in Cuba and outside. Since 2004 he has travelled in Europe, Asia and the US and extended his artistic interests to encompass digital foto and video and cinetic sculpture. Through practical projects, Alexis Parra also solved various design tasks. His artistic work often reflects an interest in ecology in a wide sense as well as his experience in moving between cultures.
